About Jerry Cave
Jerry learned the value of hard work, family, and community from his immigrant grandparents who worked for the Federal government while also raising their family and apples in their orchard in Friendship Heights.

 
Business Leader

altJerry launched and published Washington Home & Garden magazine that covered the gardens, homes and history of Bethesda and other areas. Recognizing that the future of publishing was moving online his team transitioned the magazine into www.WhgMag.com reaching an even larger audience. At the same time he launched www.CaveWebWorks.com that builds web sites and conducts internet marketing. Jerry and his wife Sheila own and run Cave Communications Company.

Prior to starting his own business, Jerry was a broadcast executive with WTOP, WASH & WMZQ Radio. Jerry Cave brings a lifetime of business experience meeting challenges, identifying opportunities and reinventing success – skills that we need as our next State Senator to cope with the fiscal crisis in Annapolis.

Jerry is a member of the Washington Board of Trade, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, the Humane Society and the Bethesda Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce.
 
Family

Jerry Cave and his wife Sheila have passed those same family values on to their two sons, Sean and Connor. They have spent endless hours volunteering in their schools and with the Boy Scouts of America, where both Sean and Connor have earned the prestigious Eagle Scout Ranking.

Jerry is an avid outdoors man and conservationist. He's hiked, biked, paddled and fished nearly every trail & stream in the county and has enjoyed sharing this passion with his family and friends. Jerry & Sheila are passionate about healthy choices by espousing the benefits of organic nutrition and active lifestyles for decades.

 
Community

altJerry has been an active member of our community as a long time adult leader in the Boy  Scouts of America and a volunteer with Maryland Youth Rugby. He has volunteered on many projects including efforts to restore parks, enhance church & school facilities, and seed oyster beds in the Chesapeake Bay. His magazine, Washington Home & Garden, promoted charity efforts with free advertising and editorial coverage including the National Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Glen Echo Park, Fisher House, Mercy Center Foundation, Mercy Health Center, the Humane Society, Massanutten Academy, The Capital Lab School of Washington Under 19 Rugby for Gonzaga H.S., Maryland Exiles, NOVA, & Hyde school.  He and his wife Sheila are also members of Our Lady of Mercy Church.


Jerry earned a BA from Tulane  University in Sociology while also studying Spanish, German, Italian and writing a weekly column  for the student newspaper. He also studied journalism in the summers at the University of Maryland. He attended Westbrook Elementary, Little Flower and Sidwell Friends.
