Worthwhile Endeavor

Posted by Jerry Cave in Untagged

Dear Supporters,
Yesterday, an eighty-year old woman emerged from a voting booth at the Little Flower Parish Hall. She looked at me, as she struggled with her walker, and said, “I came out and voted because of you.”
At that moment I knew we had won something very important. She did not come out to vote for me. She came out to vote for the ideas all of us worked so hard to make a part of this campaign. The effort for her to cast her vote was not insignificant, given her age and circumstances. And if any of you were wondering whether our effort was worthwhile, you have your answer in this woman's story.
Words are inadequate to express our gratitude for everything you did for this campaign. We left nothing on the field but our best effort... and our exhausted selves. We fought a good fight for a good cause. We made the other side work. We held them accountable. And most of all, we raised important issues -- issues that won't go away. Winners usually forget tough contests. They won’t forget this one.
Thank you very much for your generous help and support, and we look forward to seeing all of you again.

Testimonials

Posted by Jerry Cave in Untagged

I’m Marc Klaas an advocate for Jessica’s Law and father of a victim. I understand Brian Frosh is telling you that he supported Jessica’s Law. That’s simply not true. Frosh has been the biggest opponent. He treated the victims in a demeaning manner. Everything you read in Remember in November magazine is true. Re-electing Frosh is unthinkable. Please vote for Jerry Cave.

Vote for Jerry Cave

“We urge you to join us in supporting Jerry Cave for the Maryland State Senate. Jerry is a strong advocate for children.   His opponent, Brian Frosh, by his long resistance to Jessica’s Law, has endangered our children."
....Citizen’s for Jessica’s Law President                                             Joan Harris

Shame on You Senator Frosh!
As child sexual abuse survivor I felt strongly that Maryland needed tougher penalties for these predators. I was unable to appear before Senator Frosh’s Judicial Proceedings Committee.  However, when I learned of his reprehensible treatment of Marc Klaas and those he made wait five hours to testify, I felt compelled to call his office to voice my anger.  Frosh’s office staff treated me with utter contempt and laughed at me.
Senator Frosh has opposed Jessica’s Law at every step, and now I understand he is denying responsibility for his actions.  Shame on you Senator! As a former resident of Bethesda I have to ask my former neighbors how they can in good conscience vote for this man.

“The sooner Frosh is removed from public service,    the better off the public will be.”
Mrs. Cave,                                                                  I indeed remember testifying on behalf of Jessica’s Law before the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee that was chaired by Mr. Frosh.
Although I have testified before numerous legislative committees on the federal and state level over the past sixteen years, this was the singularly worst experience that I can remember. It was a demeaning experience, one in which crime victims were treated with disdain.
I remember one young lady, a victim of sexual abuse, [who] was treated with a lack of respect and dignity that was appalling when she testified on behalf of all abuse victims.”
If you wish me to support your husband’s bid to defeat Mr. Frosh please count me in.
Sincerely,
Marc Klaas,
Advocate for Jessica’s Law and father of murder-kidnap victim Polly Klaas
Note: In 1993, Marc Klaas’12-year-old daughter Polly was kidnapped, raped and brutally murdered. Marc Klaas came to Annapolis to testify before Brian Frosh’s committee to support the law to impose mandatory prison sentences on the kind of sexual predators who murdered his daughter.

Response to an email that said they thought my magazine was too negative.

Posted by Jerry Cave in response to jerry cave magazine , Jerry Cave magazine was too negative , jerry cave for senate district 16 , Jerry Cave for Senate

Informative is not negative. Did you read it?        ( Click here to Read )

Ask yourself these questions.

Why would advocates (victims and victims families) who have turned their anguish into a passion for protecting other people's children, people who should be treated with the most consideration not the least, why would they lie about Brian Frosh's opposition to Jessica's Law and why would they lie about how they were treated by Frosh ...with "a lack of respect and dignity that was appalling"... Why?

Either Frosh is lying or ALL the advocates are lying.

I think you know the answer to this question. So then how could you vote for someone like this to represent Bethesda?

Everyone in his voting district knows about this because we told all of them. By Friday everybody in the Washington Metro will know it too. If we re-elect Frosh everyone in the Washington area will know that we will have disgraced our town. I know there are some blindly loyal people in this town but this is beyond loyalty. Most people tell me they are grateful to be informed. Would you be more grateful to be ignorant?

Now if you have not got heart enough to want to protect our children and treat victims respectfully then look at the money. Frosh is the most powerful member in the legislature in ALL Montgomery County and one of the three most powerful men in the state of Maryland, and 18¢ is the best he can get??? Did you read that? Don't let him add other stuff in to compare apples and oranges unless he then adds it in for the other counties.

No he has not done the job for us. It is basically impossible to read this material and come to any other conclusion than that we need to give someone else a chance to do the job for us.

Look at the documentation. This is the most comprehensive and well documented literature ever mailed in Maryland. Frosh's stuff is typical campaign slogans and vacuous statements. In the two weeks since the magazine came out have you noticed that in all Frosh's media he hasn't found a single thing he can dispute. NOT ONE THING!

He has the best minds all his money can buy and they can't find a thing. By the way, he has 10 times the money I have.

He is so desperate he is now calling me Tea Party which is untrue, and his people are implying that I am anti-Semitic which is making my Jewish friends and non Jewish friends furious because it is utterly unfounded. These are the signs of a desperate politician who has been caught in behavior beyond the pale.  I appreciate your loyalty to your party now consider being loyal to the next generation who will be affected by this election. Thank you for taking the time to read it and to contact me. I am making friends with both Democrats and Republicans. I have friends and family in both parties and my issues are the most bipartisan of any candidate in the county. I am a life long resident, father and local business person. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the community. You are obviously someone who cares about our community too. We can make our home better and avoid some horrific consequences coming our way due to fiscally irresponsible behavior that can be fixed and needs to be fixed now. Thank you and either way please be sure to vote. It is what our men and women sacrifice so much for. Either way you vote I appreciate the opportunity to communicate respectfully with you.

Montgomery County does not get a fair share of state funding and simply can not afford to have this continue.

What's Fair

Posted by Jerry Cave in Montgomery County , Maryland , Jerry Cave for Senate

What's Fair

I had breakfast this morning with a democrat who was concerned that my platform is not fair to the rest of the state. We agreed that the concept was proportion. We send 1/3rd more taxes to Maryland and receive back 1/3rd less allocation from the the state. I think is unfair and causes the traffic nightmare and trailer nightmare and the taxes defect nightmare. She was not comfortable with my position in spite of the fact that that she felt I was as right. It just comes down to fair. I think giving 1/3rd more and receiving back the same is very fair. Its also all this county can afford. It is not fair for our children to go school in trailers or our residents to sit in pollution causing traffic. Our people are citizens of Maryland too and should be treated fairly.

CASH REGISTER - Property taxes

CASH REGISTER - Property taxes

THINGS ARE NOT ALWAYS AS THEY APPEAR.
THIS IS NOT REALLY A SPEED TRAP, THIS IS NOT REALLY A PARKING METER AND THIS IS NOT REALLY A HOUSE. TO THE INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CREATED AN HIGH TAXES, AND HIGH DEFICITS - THESE THINGS ARE CASH REGISTERS. THEY USE THEM TO GET MORE OF YOUR MONEY - WITHOUT LOOKING LIKE THEY ARE GETTING MORE OF YOUR MONEY. AFTER THIS ELECTION IS OVER THEY WILBE FREE TO THEN RAISE TAXES AND FIND STILL MORE CASH REGISTERS TO GET MORE OF YOUR MONEY.  AND WHEN IT’S OVER THEY WILL STILL BE CALLING THESE (PICTURE OF TRAILERS) CLASSROOMS. WHEN DOES ALL THIS BECOME SO RIDICULOUS SO THAT ELECT SOMEONE NEW WHO WILL FIGHT FOR OUR FAIR SHARE OF STATE FUNDING SO WE, STOP TAXING SENIORS AND BUSINESSES OUT OF THE COUNTY?

THE POTOMAC IS THE WIDEST RIVER IN AMERICA

Posted by Jerry Cave in Virginia , THE POTOMAC IS THE WIDEST RIVER IN AMERICA , Tax Code , Potomac River , Montgomery County , Maryland , Jobs

THE WIDEST RIVER IN AMERICA

THE POTOMAC IS THE WIDEST RIVER IN AMERICA. IT  SEPARATES MARYLAND FROM REALITY.

VIRGINIA HAS A REALISTIC TAX CODE THAT ATTRACTS BUSINESS. MARYLAND HAS AN UNREALISTIC TAX CODE THAT REPELS BUSINESS. VIRGINIA’S LOWER TAXES PRODUCED A 400 MILLION SURPLUS IN FAIRFAX. MARYLAND’S HIGH TAXES PRODUCED A BILLION DEFICIT IN MONTGOMERY.  THIS HURTS US THE MOST BECAUSE ANY BUSINESS HERE CAN EASILY BE THERE.
THAT’S WHY FAIRFAX HAS 200,000 MORE JOBS AND THEY PAY ABOUT 10% BETTER TOO. MONTGOMERY COUNTY DESPERATELY NEEDS MARYLAND TO ADOPT A BUSINESS FRIENDLY TAX CODE IN A HURRY BEFORE WE LOSE ALL OUR JOBS. RE-ELECTING MY OPPONENT WHO CREATED THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE RUINOUS FOR THOSE PEOPLE SEEKING JOBS IN OUR STATE. I BRING A LIFETIME OF BUSINESS EXPERIENCE TO OUR DELEGATION, THAT CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE A SINGLE BUSINESS PERSON IN IT. AND THEIR RECORD SHOWS IT. PAST PERFORMANCE IS ACTUALLY A GOOD INDICATOR OF FUTURE RESULTS. WE NEED TO BE REALISTIC SO WE CAN THEN BE OPTIMISTIC.  AND YOU THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO SAY RIDICULOUS.

Glen Echo: Who does #2 work for?

Posted by Jerry Cave in Washington Home and Garden , trailers in bethesda schools , traffic in bethesda , purple line over crescent trail , Jerry Cave for Senate , icc toll , Glen Echo , Brian Frosh , Bethesda , Baltimore football stadium

I LOVE GLEN ECHO. I COME HERE ALL THE TIME WITH FAMILY. I HAVE SPENT MY FUNDS TO PROMOTE GLEN ECHO IN MY MAGAZINE, WASHINGTON HOME AND GARDEN.

MY OPPONENT, BRIAN FROSH, LISTED HIS EFFORT TO GET STATE FUNDS FOR GLEN ECHO AS ONE OF HIS MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT IN HIS 23 YEARS IN OFFICE. THAT WOULD BE  IMPRESSIVE - EXCEPT, IN THE TIME PERIOD, THE STATE BUILT BALTIMORE A NEW 220 MILLION DOLLAR FOOTBALL STADIUM... LET ME SEE… IN BETHESDA ….BECAUSE THERE’S NO MONEY… WE HAVE TRAILERS INSTEAD OF CLASSROOOMS – WE’RE SUPPOSED TO LOSE OUR CRESCENT TRAIL FOR LIGHT BECAUSE THERE IS NO MONEY TO PUT THE PURPLE LINE UNDERGROUND AND THE TOLL ON THE ICC IS GOING TO BE OVER $11 BUT THERE’S PLENTY OF MONEY FOR A BALTIMORE FOOTBALL STADIUM. THAT THE TEAM GETS TO USE FOR FREE.
MY OPPONENT SAYS
“HOW CAN I ASK FOR MORE MONEY FOR MONTGOMERY WHEN BALTIMORE’S NEEDS ARE SO GREAT?”  AND HE IS SUPPOSED TO REPRESENT BETHESDA? THAT’S RIDICULOUS.  WHAT WOULD NOT BE RIDICULOUS IS FOR US TO MAKE SURE HE COMES IN NUMBER 2 IN THIS ELECTION. YOU SEE THAT WOULD BE A PERFECT ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION.  WHO DOES NUMBER TWO WORK FOR?
