Glen Echo: Who does #2 work for?

Posted by Jerry Cave in Washington Home and Garden , trailers in bethesda schools , traffic in bethesda , purple line over crescent trail , Jerry Cave for Senate , icc toll , Glen Echo , Brian Frosh , Bethesda , Baltimore football stadium

I LOVE GLEN ECHO. I COME HERE ALL THE TIME WITH FAMILY. I HAVE SPENT MY FUNDS TO PROMOTE GLEN ECHO IN MY MAGAZINE, WASHINGTON HOME AND GARDEN.

MY OPPONENT, BRIAN FROSH, LISTED HIS EFFORT TO GET STATE FUNDS FOR GLEN ECHO AS ONE OF HIS MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENT IN HIS 23 YEARS IN OFFICE. THAT WOULD BE  IMPRESSIVE - EXCEPT, IN THE TIME PERIOD, THE STATE BUILT BALTIMORE A NEW 220 MILLION DOLLAR FOOTBALL STADIUM... LET ME SEE… IN BETHESDA ….BECAUSE THERE’S NO MONEY… WE HAVE TRAILERS INSTEAD OF CLASSROOOMS – WE’RE SUPPOSED TO LOSE OUR CRESCENT TRAIL FOR LIGHT BECAUSE THERE IS NO MONEY TO PUT THE PURPLE LINE UNDERGROUND AND THE TOLL ON THE ICC IS GOING TO BE OVER $11 BUT THERE’S PLENTY OF MONEY FOR A BALTIMORE FOOTBALL STADIUM. THAT THE TEAM GETS TO USE FOR FREE.
MY OPPONENT SAYS
“HOW CAN I ASK FOR MORE MONEY FOR MONTGOMERY WHEN BALTIMORE’S NEEDS ARE SO GREAT?”  AND HE IS SUPPOSED TO REPRESENT BETHESDA? THAT’S RIDICULOUS.  WHAT WOULD NOT BE RIDICULOUS IS FOR US TO MAKE SURE HE COMES IN NUMBER 2 IN THIS ELECTION. YOU SEE THAT WOULD BE A PERFECT ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION.  WHO DOES NUMBER TWO WORK FOR?

Glen Echo

Posted by Jerry Cave in your Candidate for the Maryland Senate , Washington Home and Garden , Montgomery County schools , Maryland legislature , Jerry Cave , inter county connector , Glen Echo , Bethesda , Baltimore football stadium , Annapolis

I love Glen Echo Park! I enjoyed it with my parents and my children. I supported Glen Echo by covering the park’s features in my magazine, Washington Home and Garden. My opponent, the incumbent Brian Frosh, likes and supports it too. He listed his effort to get funding from the state of Maryland for Glen Echo Park as one of his major accomplishment in his 23 years in the Maryland legislature. That might be impressive except that during the same time period Baltimore got state funding for a 220 million dollar football stadium. They gave the team free use of the stadium to attract the Cleveland Browns to become the Baltimore Ravens. Bethesda can’t get money to replace trailers with classrooms, Bethesda can’t get money for an underground Purple line to save the Crescent Trail and we’ll have to pay over $11 for a rush hour commute on the Inter County Connector but Baltimore gets a free football stadium! My opponent, Brian Frosh, likes to say; “How can I ask for more money for Montgomery County schools when Baltimore’s needs are so great?” Who NEEDS a football stadium? That makes sense only if you think a football stadium in Baltimore is more important than classrooms in Bethesda. Otherwise, it’s ridiculous.
No wonder Montgomery County Council President, Nancy Floreen said “Our delegation to Annapolis (Senator Brian Frosh) hasn’t brought home the bacon.” Sure the did. Bethesda Senator Frosh brought home the bacon but he brought it home to Baltimore!

Purple Line and Who should Pay for it

We need the Purple Line and need to encourage the federal government to share a greater responsibility of funding to allow other new and existing transportation dollars to go toward other projects. If the federal government is placing more personnel in Bethesda on federal work projects, then it should carry more of the funding burden. Comparatively, we would not let a developer do the same? Millionaires Tax Cost Non-Millionaires Money!

The “Millionaires Tax” is a monument to ignorance and indifference. Money moves. If you make a hostile tax environment, then the money will move to a more friendly state. The millionaire tax chased out of Maryland and the county all the tax revenue the state previously enjoyed. The elected officials who voted for this boondoggle either were ignorant of basic economics or worse, were indifferent to the obvious outcome. I am against the tax as it generates less revenue. Tax policy like this will increase the mass exodus of businesses and high income earners to nearby Virginia. See www.CaveForSenate.com

The Incumbents are Pushing Business out of Maryland

When we analyze the difference in tax structure between Maryland and Virginia, it is abundantly apparent that Virginia supports private industry and Maryland does not. The ability for Montgomery County to attract private industry is dependent on addressing the inhospitable tax situation in the state. I am 100% committed to improving Maryland & Montgomery County's tax situation for business. The incumbent has been an integral component in making Maryland the 4th worst state for the business environment, according to taxfoundation.org.

Jerry Cave's Vision for Maryland - www.CaveForSenate.com

My vision includes advocating and funding adequate transportation so that we are not prisoners sitting in our cars in the 4th worst traffic area in America. My vision includes getting our fair share of state revenue so we can adequately fund our needs without causing a billion dollar deficit. My vision includes an educational system in which the students are the priority. My vision includes a business friendly county and state that spends taxpayer dollars wisely and not wildly. My vision includes transparency in government.

Jerry Cave - The only Advocate for Montgomery County

I am the only Bethesda candidate for the Maryland General Assembly who will advocate for Montgomery County. My incumbent opponent has been quoted as asking, "How can I ask for more education money for Montgomery County when Baltimore needs it?"

The state under-funds Montgomery County schools at a rate of $2,200 per student or $308,000,000 overall for the 140,000 students. That equates to 31% of the county deficit. The incumbent, Brian Frosh, is not part of the problem. He is the problem. All of our problems come from the state not funding the things that Montgomery County needs and deserves. This atrocity is causing our traffic congestion, deficits, and education under-funding. The problem is that no one is raising this as an issue to help ensure that Montgomery County gets its fair share.

This is your first and perhaps only opportunity to support a candidate who will fight for our interests, instead of Annapolis political establishments and Baltimore City. If one State Senator from Montgomery County raised the issue of getting Montgomery County its fair share, then ALL the other Montgomery County legislators will have to advocate for the county, as well. This has not been done and I will do it. Nancy Floreen said, "Our representatives to Annapolis have not brought home the bacon. We don't get 20 cents on the dollar from the state." We can change this in one election. Visit the news section of wwwCaveForSenate.com to see more in formation how to get our fair share.

Health Warning Republicans & Independents most at Risk!

Health Warning Republicans & Independents most at Risk!
Part 1
The most significant symptom of why Montgomery County is under-served in state funding to Annapolis is “give up-itis.” It is a contagion that has gripped otherwise healthy adult members of our community for decades.
People believe that a Republican can never be elected to office in Montgomery County. That is only true as long as we believe that it is. That day is over. The electorate is not just open to new leadership they are yearning for it.
The message of the Cave for Senate campaign appeals to Democrats, Republicans & independents. The only way it doesn’t work to win this election is if the Republicans in our community wallow in hopelessness and helplessness. This is the year the independents and independent minded Democrats are open to a moderate Republican message on fiscal responsibility.
Fortunately, we are getting great support from young folks and adults in our community who recognize that this is the year we can elect an independent, fiscally responsible candidate who will not take NO for answer from Mike Miller on getting Montgomery County her fair share of state funding especially for education.
However there still some people who are still indulging in give up itis. We need their support.  Seewww.caveforsenate.com for more information.

Health Warning Democrats also at Risk!
Part 2
Give up-it is a disease that has plagued Montgomery County for decades for all political parties. Most Montgomery County residents realize that some of our money goes to Baltimore and other counties instead of returning to our county at the same rate as the rest of Maryland.
This year everyone is realizing that we can no longer afford this exodus of our hard earned money because we have unsustainable  $BILLION DEFICITS projected to occur every year in Montgomery County. At least half of this problem is a result of not getting our fair share from Maryland. We are underfunded for education alone to the tune of 308,000,000 which is 31% of our deficit on this one issue alone!
So many people, Democrats included, have given up on the idea that we can fix this and get a more equitable allocation from the state. They are wrong.
Montgomery County has 32 member of state government. That is the most of any county. We have the power to ask even insist on being treated better. We just need to ask for it. It is really simpler than that. We need only one Republican representative to Annapolis from Montgomery County to be elected on this issue and then all the other Montgomery County elected officials will enthusiastically get behind the effort to get Montgomery County her fair share. They will have to or face being thrown out of office themselves.
There has never been less reason to engage in give up-it is than right now. Fortunately it is a disease you can put in remission with a change of attitude and a new course of action. Realize you can make a difference and support our campaign to get elected on the issue to get Montgomery County her fear share and then get behind our campaign. It is that simple.  See www.CaveForSenate.com for more information

I finished calling on every home in Cabin John Maryland for my campaign for the state Senate and I have some interesting observations. People care a lot about their schools whether their children go to Whitman Pyle, Little Flower or St. Bart’s. They are not happy about Montgomery county schools being underfunded and services being cut back. Many know that our money has gone to Baltimore but many didn’t know how bad it is. That aside the neighborhood is a great place to raise a family. There was a big pig roast going on and people were having a ball  in spite of the heat. This is a neighborhood where you can find great front porches. It is nice that the new houses put them on as well as the older homes. And they are real front porches. Not the narrow ones put on for appearances only but nice deep ones with plenty of room to practice front porch sittin’ and relaxin’.
