What's FairPosted by Jerry Cave in Montgomery County , Maryland , Jerry Cave for Senate |
What's Fair
I had breakfast this morning with a democrat who was concerned that my platform is not fair to the rest of the state. We agreed that the concept was proportion. We send 1/3rd more taxes to Maryland and receive back 1/3rd less allocation from the the state. I think is unfair and causes the traffic nightmare and trailer nightmare and the taxes defect nightmare. She was not comfortable with my position in spite of the fact that that she felt I was as right. It just comes down to fair. I think giving 1/3rd more and receiving back the same is very fair. Its also all this county can afford. It is not fair for our children to go school in trailers or our residents to sit in pollution causing traffic. Our people are citizens of Maryland too and should be treated fairly.

CASH REGISTER - Property taxes
THINGS ARE NOT ALWAYS AS THEY APPEAR.
THIS IS NOT REALLY A SPEED TRAP, THIS IS NOT REALLY A PARKING METER AND THIS IS NOT REALLY A HOUSE. TO THE INCUMBENTS WHO HAVE CREATED AN HIGH TAXES, AND HIGH DEFICITS - THESE THINGS ARE CASH REGISTERS. THEY USE THEM TO GET MORE OF YOUR MONEY - WITHOUT LOOKING LIKE THEY ARE GETTING MORE OF YOUR MONEY. AFTER THIS ELECTION IS OVER THEY WILBE FREE TO THEN RAISE TAXES AND FIND STILL MORE CASH REGISTERS TO GET MORE OF YOUR MONEY. AND WHEN IT’S OVER THEY WILL STILL BE CALLING THESE (PICTURE OF TRAILERS) CLASSROOMS. WHEN DOES ALL THIS BECOME SO RIDICULOUS SO THAT ELECT SOMEONE NEW WHO WILL FIGHT FOR OUR FAIR SHARE OF STATE FUNDING SO WE, STOP TAXING SENIORS AND BUSINESSES OUT OF THE COUNTY?

THE WIDEST RIVER IN AMERICA
THE POTOMAC IS THE WIDEST RIVER IN AMERICA. IT SEPARATES MARYLAND FROM REALITY.
VIRGINIA HAS A REALISTIC TAX CODE THAT ATTRACTS BUSINESS. MARYLAND HAS AN UNREALISTIC TAX CODE THAT REPELS BUSINESS. VIRGINIA’S LOWER TAXES PRODUCED A 400 MILLION SURPLUS IN FAIRFAX. MARYLAND’S HIGH TAXES PRODUCED A BILLION DEFICIT IN MONTGOMERY. THIS HURTS US THE MOST BECAUSE ANY BUSINESS HERE CAN EASILY BE THERE.
THAT’S WHY FAIRFAX HAS 200,000 MORE JOBS AND THEY PAY ABOUT 10% BETTER TOO. MONTGOMERY COUNTY DESPERATELY NEEDS MARYLAND TO ADOPT A BUSINESS FRIENDLY TAX CODE IN A HURRY BEFORE WE LOSE ALL OUR JOBS. RE-ELECTING MY OPPONENT WHO CREATED THIS PROBLEM WOULD BE RUINOUS FOR THOSE PEOPLE SEEKING JOBS IN OUR STATE. I BRING A LIFETIME OF BUSINESS EXPERIENCE TO OUR DELEGATION, THAT CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE A SINGLE BUSINESS PERSON IN IT. AND THEIR RECORD SHOWS IT. PAST PERFORMANCE IS ACTUALLY A GOOD INDICATOR OF FUTURE RESULTS. WE NEED TO BE REALISTIC SO WE CAN THEN BE OPTIMISTIC. AND YOU THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO SAY RIDICULOUS.

I wanted to see where are money went in Maryland so I went to Annapolis to see one of the big wigs. He said Boy are you from Montgomery County? I said yes indeed I am. So he pulled out his debit card and swiped it between my ear and my temple then punched his pin number in my forehead. I said what the heck are you doing? He said Boy you are from Montgomery County. That’s where we get all our money!” Yes that is ridiculous. We can stop being the ATM machine for the State of Maryland if you can vote the issues and not just party affiliation. We were just about finished shooting video at Woodacres school when an angry Democrat came up and proclaimed that any incumbent in Montgomery County should be ashamed to run for re-election. I explained that I was as not an incumbent and that the election of an independent moderate republican on the platform to treat our county fairly would get the money we need to fix this. I asked him could he votes the issues and not just party affiliation and he said yes! Form more information visit www.CaveForSenate.com

Why is the county that finances the rest of state the only one to have a $1 billion deficit? Our tax money goes to Annapolis and then never finds its way back home.
We need a representative in Annapolis who will fight for the interests of Montgomery County and not Baltimore.
These deficits are projected to continue through 2015. The looming Tax Tsunami will be disastrous for Montgomery County’s schools, businesses and our quality of life.
We need new leadership in the Maryland Senate that is not beholden to any one but the people in Montgomery County. That is why I am running. I will be your man in Annapolis.
I am on a Listening Tour to hear your opinion. Email me or tell me when you see me in your neighborhood. If you like our direction we need your vote and your help. We can change this system and fix these problems
Thank you for caring about Maryland and Montgomery County. Our children’s future in Maryland deserves the right choice in this election.
Jerry Cave,
Your Candidate for the Maryland Senate
I met the millionaires who moved away. guess what? They are still here! How can you move and still be here? Some of you may remember the article in the Wall Street Journal that revealed that when Maryland enacted the Millionaire’s tax the millionaires left the state. Maryland subsequently lost millions of dollars in tax revenues. The article speculated that some of the well to do simply made their second home their primary home. Well I saw it this week. I was going door to door talking to homeowners and was greeted by two people in very expensive homes who politely said that they don’t vote here they vote in Delaware or North Carolina. All I could think of was the article in WSJ and how ignorant the Maryland incumbants were to ignore common sense and basic economics and cost us this tax money when the made that simplistic law. MONEY MOVES! When it is not welcome in one state it moves to the one that will welcome it. If we are so foolish to re-elect the incumbants like Brian Frosh & company again we better get prepared for a lot more of this.
While we’re on this topic let’s examine why a legislator would vote for this kind of law. 1st they are too ignorant of economics to do it. If that is the case do they have the commitment and intelligence to be our representative in Annapolis? I don’t think so. 2nd they know better and do it anyway. That is worse. That means they don’t respect the taxpayer’s intelligence and what’s more they don’t care. That lack of integrity should disqualify them too. If we re-elect these people then what does that say about us?

Last night I spent 4 hours going door to door meeting my neighbors in MacAuley Park and across the MacArthur Blvd. People care so much about their schools that they are dipping into their own pocket to make up the shortfall that our underfunding from the state of Maryland has caused. They are spending their own money to provide equipment for their student athlete and also the team. They are curious that since we are taxed higher than 99 1/2% of the rest of the country while they have to do that on top of that tax burden. They are not happy that Brian Frosh and the other representatives of Montgomery County have let them down and left this additional burden on them. One mother asked why after all the taxes we pay is her daughter taking classes in a trailer at Woodacres? She already knew that her money had gone to Baltimore and not for its intended purpose to educate our children. People are not happy about this. That is what we can fix. That is what this election is all about. Bethesda is not an ATM machine for Maryland or at least it shouldn't be.
